Brian Carey

Partner, Foley Hoag

BRIAN CAREY’S legal Brian Carey’s legal practice focuses on advising a wide range of clients on federal legislative and regulatory issues impacting the life sciences and health care sectors. He primarily advises biotechnology, medical device companies, health care providers, medical trade associations and private equity investors.

His work with biopharma and medical technology companies includes advice on Medicare coverage and payment, and food and drug approval issues for innovative technologies. He regularly represents clients in matters before the Congress, Department of Health and Human Services, and federal agencies.

In recent years, Brian has been counseling clients on the implementation of the Affordable Care Act.


Laurie McGraw

SVP Health Solutions, American Medical Association

LAURIE McGRAW leads the American Medical Association’s Health Solutions business unit, which focuses on the development, maintenance and delivery of high-quality information products. She is responsible for overseeing the AMA’s long-term strategic efforts to advance data interoperability across the health care technology landscape.

Prior to joining the AMA, McGraw’s 25-year career in health care technology began at IDX Corporation, where she experienced 10 years of increasing leadership responsibilities while involved in web-based electronic health record (EHR) product development. A graduate of Brown University, (Sc.B. in cognitive science), McGraw is also a passionate outdoor enthusiast who currently serves on the Yellowstone Park Foundation’s Advisory Board.


David Harrington

DAVID HARRINGTON is the former CEO of American Imaging Management (AIM), a leading company in the radiology benefit management industry that pioneered the use of web technology in diagnostic imaging. Promoting the appropriate use of diagnostic imaging through the application of widely accepted clinical guidelines, AIM developed a national client base of health plans, providing management services to over 20 million health plan members.

Mr. Harrington brings 35 years of increasingly responsible and successful experience in critical areas of healthcare delivery management. He has held executive positions at AETNA, UnitedHealthcare, Columbia/HCA, Physician Quality Care, and DASH Business Group. Mr. Harrington earned his graduate degree from Columbia University and undergraduate degree from Boston College.
